Would this trade make sense for the Philadelphia 76ers?
This deal would 100 percent be a loss of value for the Philadelphia 76ers. But with Simmons yet to appear in a game this season and the situation rapidly deteriorating, they’re simply not going to get the same value in return for what they’re giving up.
Simmons has made it abundantly clear that he does not want to play in Philadelphia anymore. This means teams are going to be willing to pay less in any trades for him. However, this trade would net them three players ready to contribute right away.
Bogdan Bogdanovic has been (about) a 15 PPG scorer for the past few seasons before this one. Although he’s having a down year, there’s no reason he can’t get back to that level moving forward. He’d be a great scoring punch for them moving forward.
As for Cam Reddish and De’Andre Hunter, they are two young players who would be able to grow with Joel Embiid moving forward. Both have elite two-way potential. Reddish has shown some of that potential this season, and Hunter has shown it when he’s been able to stay on the court for the past couple of seasons.

Overall, a package of one veteran and two quality young pieces is a solid return for a disgruntled star like Simmons. Again, the Philadelphia 76ers wouldn’t be getting equal value in return, but considering Simmons isn’t playing, some active players is better than none, right?
