The Miami Heat made a few big moves in the NBA offseason in hopes of returning back to the championship contender they showed to be in the Orlando Bubble.
Among the moves the Heat made was the sign-and-trade with the Toronto Raptors to land Kyle Lowry, who is Jimmy Butler’s close friend and is a former All-Star. The idea was adding his all-around skill-set as Tyler Herro develops could give Miami some intriguing firepower offensively.
Another move the Heat made wasn’t as flashy since they were bringing a current player back. Miami re-signed Duncan Robinson to a five-year, $89.9 million contract to keep him with the organization.
Robinson had struggled to begin the season as he shot just 32.8 percent from beyond the arc on an average of 9.1 attempts per game before the start of December. He’s turned things around significantly as of late—converting at a 39.1 percent clip on 7.7 attempts per game since.
