Today, the Golden State Warriors are viewed as one of the best dynasties in professional sports, but what many people tend to forget is that this was not always the case with this NBA franchise. Before the Warriors had Draymond Green or Klay Thompson or Stephen Curry, they were a very mediocre franchise that was looking to get back to being a consistent playoff threat.

Before their three recent titles, the Warriors’ last title came in 1975, a year in which NBA legend Rick Barry and Hall-of-Famer Jammal Wilkes led the team. Many people tend to bash the Warriors for their greatness today, claiming that they have always been great, but that has not been the case.

From the start of the 1993-94 season to the start of the 2011-12 season, an 18 season stretch, the Golden State Warriors made the postseason just once. Years of suffering and years of defeat led to the rise of one of the greatest dynasties we know today.

After back-to-back seasons of missing the playoffs due to injuries and a “soft rebuild,” the Warriors have seemed to find their mojo again, as they are currently 29-9 on the season. The scary thing about this though is that the “rich” are about to get “richer”.

LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Warriors Have Big Plans For Klay Thompson Upon Return

Klay Thompson has not played in an NBA game since the 2019 NBA Finals where he tore his left ACL. After spending the whole 2019-20 season rehabbing from this ACL injury, Klay then suffered a complete tear of his right Achilles, forcing him to miss the entire 2020-21 season.

This Sunday will mark 941 days since the last time Klay Thompson was playing in an NBA game and it also may be the first time we will see Klay Thompson play since his ACL and Achilles tears.

Along with Thompson being on the mend and getting ready to return, James Wiseman is also getting ready to make his return from a meniscus injury suffered near the end of last season.
