Now, a potential trade with the Los Angeles Lakers for star point guard Russell Westbrook is being speculated about.
Westbrook is a hot name on the trade rumor market right now. The Lakers have covertly considered moving him, but nothing serious has come up yet. He may not end up getting moved, but it is certainly interesting to think about.
Jason Reed of Lake Show Life came up with an intriguing trade idea. His idea sent Westbrook packing to the Magic. Here’s what the full trade looked like.
Magic Receive: Russell Westbrook, 2025 First-Round Pick, 2027 First-Round Pick Swap
Lakers Receive: Gary Harris, Terrence Ross, Robin Lopez
Wow. Now that’s an interesting trade for both parties involved. Some fans won’t like it and will write it off, but it actually is something that could cause the Lakers to consider parting ways with Westbrook.

For the Lakers, being able to get two wing players like Harris and Ross would be ideal. Ross is a lethal three-point shooter and Harris can knock down the long-ball as well. Lopez simply adds more depth to the front-court for L.A.
On the other side of the deal, the Magic would be getting a true superstar to build around. Whether or not they could keep him long-term would be the main question here. If they can, Westbrook would bring life back to a franchise that has been stuck in mediocrity for far too long.

Granted, there are some glaring holes for both sides in this trade idea. But, it is interesting and could be something that would make sense. It’s all speculation, but that is exactly what this time of year is about.
