The Houston Rockets are a team that teams will be calling ahead of the deadline. They are one of the few that look like they will be definitive sellers in a market without many teams ready to do so. There are some players on their roster that would make sense as targets as well.

The one player most people will be keeping tabs on is Christian Wood. At 26-years old, he is certainly young enough to hold onto as a building block, but it would be understandable if the Rockets decided to cash in on his value and move him now.

Given a recent run-in he had with assistant coach John Lucas and younger teammates calling him out, it could be worth a call for the Toronto Raptors to see what it would cost to acquire him. Pursuing Wood would be an aggressive move, but when you are set up as well as the Raptors are, you can afford to take some chances.

Toronto is a deep team offensively, as they have several players that can beat you. Five players average at least 15 points per game, and Wood would give them a sixth that’s more than capable of reaching that number.

Wood could step into the starting role at the center position, filling a void in the lineup the Raptors have had since Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka paired up on the title-winning team.

He would provide production on both ends of the court, giving the Raptors a better chance of competing now but have plenty of prime years ahead of him to produce later on as well.
