The Minnesota Timberwolves are itching to make a splash move. They have been competitive this season and look poised to at least qualify for a spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament in the Western Conference.

The future is relatively bright in Minnesota with Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards and D’Angelo Russell. There have been some rumors linking the Timberwolves to Ben Simmons, but the team’s biggest hole is at power forward.

Unless they can convince Simmons to play in the frontcourt, he doesn’t fill that hole. But, imagine Anthony Davis filling that spot alongside Towns in the frontcourt?

That would be the best frontcourt in the NBA, enabling Davis to play his preferred position of power forward. The Timberwolves would be dangerous on both ends of the court as their steadily improving defense would be even better with Davis and he would elevate their offense as well.

Figuring out a package that the Los Angeles Lakers would like is difficult. It is the same snag hit when discussing packages the Philadelphia 76ers may have interest in from the Timberwolves for Simmons.

A third team would likely have to get involved for talks centered around Davis to gain any traction. But, it would be cool for Timberwolves fans to see their team aggressively look to upgrade the power forward spot with one of the premier big men in the game in Davis.
