As the Sacramento Kings continue to disappoint, it has become increasingly apparent that this core isn’t working as the NBA trade deadline approaches.

That’s not to say that they don’t have talent, but when the same group of players fails to reach the postseason so many years in a row, that usually signals that a change is needed.

This offseason, Sacramento was rumored to be interested in disgruntled Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons. The Kings have been awful on the defensive side of the floor, and adding a guy like Simmons would obviously change that.

However, Philadelphia’s asking price for Simmons has been sky-high. GM Daryl Morey reportedly had a list of only a few players he’d be willing to trade Simmons for. That being said, recent rumors state that Morey’s list has expanded to around 25 to 30 players.

While it’s obviously unknown what players are on that list, there’s a chance that the Kings could have one of those players on their roster. The obvious answer is point guard De’Aaron Fox, but in actuality, another member of their backcourt might be favored by the 76ers.

Would the Sixers be interested in a deal that gets them Tyrese Haliburton? More importantly, would this be a deal that the Kings would take part in? What would a deal like this look like?
