We have seen some great basketball for them, as some people forget that they did start the season 5-1 out of the gate. Last season, New York had an identity as a hard-nosed, defensive-minded team. Opponents knew they would be in for a dog fight against the Knicks every night. That same intensity is lacking this season and the offense hasn’t improved enough to consistently make up for it.

Leon Rose, Scott Perry and William Wesley took a chance adjusting the look of the roster in the offseason. Some changes were made, but the entire dynamic has shifted as the Knicks have lost their identity. With a playoff spot still well within reach, New York will be aggressive leading up to the trade deadline.

The Knicks could be having some buyer’s remorse about some of the moves they made in the offseason. Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier were added to help bolster the offense, but their impacts defensively have been felt more often, especially in the case of Fournier.
