The Los Angeles Lakers are going to turn over every stone when it comes to upgrading their roster. They have fallen well short of their expectations thus far, as the team is only 19-19 as we near the midway point of the 2021-22 NBA season.
Right now, the Lakers don’t look like championship contenders. As long as they have LeBron James on the roster you cannot count them out, but things have not gone as well as they had hoped for.
Rob Pelinka and the front office took a risk acquiring Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards. While he isn’t as big of a negative as some media outlets may lead you to believe, things are not clicking too well.
It was always going to be a big question whether or not Westbrook’s style of play could mesh with the ones of James and Davis. His lack of perimeter shooting has been a detriment at times, but the Lakers have found some success when going smaller.

While that helps them with Davis sidelined, all three have to be on the same page for the Lakers to reach the ultimate goal of winning a championship. To achieve that, a deal involving Westbrook will have to be considered.
