1. Damian Lillard

The biggest dream for New York Knicks fans would be landing Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers. It is certainly a pipe dream but one that could become more of a possibility once the Trail Blazers figure out their front office situation.

While Portland isn’t making Lillard available right now and he isn’t requesting a trade, it may be in the organization’s best interest to move on from him sooner than later. The harsh reality for the Trail Blazers is that they are not in a position to contend and need to seriously consider rebuilding the roster.

Trading Lillard would be the quickest way to do that. New York has the draft capital, contracts to match salary and young players to be in the running for any player that may come available on the trade market.

It would cost a ton, but it is a move that fans would love to see happen as long as it doesn’t empty the cupboard in the same fashion the team did for Carmelo Anthony. Lillard is a star and would give the Knicks a much-needed go-to scorer, pushing Julius Randle into a No. 2 role that he is likely a better fit for.

There would be some issues defensively with Lillard, but it is an obstacle the Knicks would be willing to try and overcome as they could quickly move up the Eastern Conference standings with a superstar of Lillard’s caliber.
