3 Trades Fans Would Love To See New York Knicks Pull Off

New York Knicks, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

Things have not gone as smoothly for the New York Knicks during the 2021-22 NBA season as they did in the 2020-21 season. After building their team identity around defense and earning the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference last season, the Knicks are currently on the outside looking in of the playoff picture this season.

New York is currently 17-20 on the season as they have been hit hard by injuries and positive COVID-19 tests recently. It has led to some inconsistent play as Tom Thibodeau is constantly shuffling the lineup based on who is available to play.

Leon Rose and Scott Perry took some chances in the offseason, deciding to bring in offensive-minded players while sacrificing some defense. The results have been mixed, at best, as the team isn’t winning nearly as consistently as it did last season.

Getting healthy and re-finding their identity will be key to the team getting their season back on track. Julius Randle regressing in the way that he has is arguably the biggest issue that the Knicks are facing. He earned an All-Star nod and spot on an All-NBA Team last season but hasn’t been close to replicating that success this season.

New York is seeing right before their eyes what happens to teams that don’t have a bonafide superstar leading the way and consistent production at the point guard position. Lacking both, as the Knicks have at points this season, is what has led to their inconsistencies.

This time of the season is when fans dream of issues like that going away. New York Knicks fans, who are desperate for a winning team, are no different. Here are three trades that fans would love to see the team pull off before the deadline.
