The Los Angeles Lakers have been nothing short of a disappointment this NBA season and things are not getting better for them. LeBron James has put this team on his back the last several games and they have won three of their last four, but the Lakers are just 19-19 overall and will be without Anthony Davis for the foreseeable future.

Davis suffered a sprained MCL in his left knee on Dec. 17 and will not be evaluated until sometime around January 14, meaning that he may not return to action until the final week of January at the earliest!

Russell Westbrook has really struggled to find a rhythm in Los Angeles alongside LeBron James and with this team having a ton of other durability concerns, the Lakers’ championship odds continue to decline each day.

As long as LeBron is on this team, they will always have a chance to be competitive, but they really do need to change things up roster-wise ahead of the trade deadline this season.

Other than Carmelo Anthony, the Lakers’ bench has been very unproductive this season and for this team to have a chance at turning things around, they will need to add some more scorers on the wing.

However, the Lakers have almost zero trade assets and are way over the salary cap, making any move for them almost impossible. So where should Los Angeles look for answers ahead of the trade deadline?

Down in Orlando, the Magic are rebuilding and are currently 7-30 on the season. They should be more than happy to bring in young talents and draft picks, especially for a veteran like Terrence Ross.

Adding another veteran player to their roster is probably the last thing the Lakers should consider doing this season, but at 30-years-old, Ross has proven to be an effective bench scorer in this league. Averaging 11.8 points and shooting 40.6% from the floor, Terrence Ross could be another versatile scorer the Lakers could utilize in their second-unit.

Let’s take a look at how the Lakers could possibly make this trade for the Orlando Magic’s veteran work.
