Everyone just remain calm and do not panic. The Sacramento Kings are not in last place in the Western Conference or the NBA 28 games into the season!

Currently 11-17 on the year, the Sacramento Kings still have a lot of work to do if they are to break their 15-year playoff drought this season, but hey, at least your team is not in last place right now Kings’ fans!

Luke Walton had been on the “hot seat” for what seemed like since the team had hired him prior to the 2019-20 season, but they finally made the move to fire him following a 123-105 loss to the Jazz on November 20, a game in which a fan had some “spillage” on the court after watching the Kings play basketball.

I am sorry Kings’ fans, I do not mean to beat you all up while you are down, but you kind of do this to yourselves.

Since Alvin Gentry took over as the acting head coach of the Kings, the team has gone 5-6, and following their most recent defeat to the Toronto Raptors on Monday night, the players held a “players only” meeting, according to The Sacramento Bee’s Jason Anderson

Things just are not going well for the NBA franchise that has been sitting at rock-bottom for almost two decades now. A big move is going to need to be made if the Kings are going to have any shot of getting back to the playoffs and snapping this 15-year drought, which is why Marvin Bagley III and Buddy Hield will likely be traded this season.

These are two of the better assets the Kings have to trade and both have reasons to be moved. Marvin Bagley’s drama in Sacramento has been well-documented from him not wanting to check into games, to him cutting off communication with the coaching staff, even to his agent calling out the organization on Twitter

As for Buddy Hield, Sacramento literally had a deal in place to ship him to the Los Angeles Lakers for Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell and others, but the deal fell apart after the Lakers opted to acquire Russell Westbrook instead.

Bad move Pelinka!

Hiled and Bagley’s long-term futures do not appear to be in Sacramento anymore, which is why the organization will look to leverage them this season. Who or what the Kings can get for either player remains a mystery at this point, but together in a trade package, the Kings are going to be looking to swing for the fences.

Maybe these are not realistic trade targets for the Kings given their situation and overall team value, but here are three players the Kings need to try and target in a Bagley-Hield trade this season.
