The NBA’s December 15 deadline for players who recently signed contracts in the offseason to become trade eligible is almost here and with the NBA Trade Deadline officially two months away, trade rumors are going to be flying off the shelves in the coming weeks!
Already a quarter of the way through the 2021-22 season, teams are beginning to formulate their path to the playoffs and while many teams in the league are still very much neck-and-neck with one another, moves are going to have to be made for some to sustain success.
Whether it be because of injuries or dysfunction within the organization, some teams have really struggled this season and one of those teams is the Indiana Pacers. Currently 11-16, the Pacers have had very limited success and while they are only 5 games back from a .500 record, their playoff hopes are very slim.
This is not only because the Eastern Conference is much better than it has been over the years, but because the Indiana Pacers as an organization seem to be heading towards a rebuild. On Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Pacers are moving towards rebuilding and will not only be listening to offers for Caris LeVert and Myles Turner but Domantas Sabonis as well.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: 3 Teams To Watch For In Pacers’ Domantas Sabonis Trade Talks
Missing the playoffs last season seemed to be the spark for this franchise beginning to fracture and now, their slow start has made things even worse. Whether or not the Pacers actually trade some of their best talents remains to be seen, but Sabonis is going to draw a lot of interest in trade talks over the next few months.
Being named an All-Star in back-to-back seasons, the 25-year-old Sabonis has a very high value on the trade market right now and the Pacers could immediately capitalize off trading him.
If this team does actually want to rebuild, then trading Domantas Sabonis could be a move they need to make in order to get the most value in return.
