Does this trade make sense for the Golden State Warriors?
Golden State Warriors’ General Manager Bob Myers and this entire front-office have proven in the past that they are not afraid to sacrifice assets to make big moves that result in them competing for championships, but this is a move that they will not be willing to make.
The Warriors are high on James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody as young talents for the future and right now, Golden State has no reason to want to shake things up roster-wise.
They have the best record in the league, they are one of the best offensive teams in the league and are already the best defensive team in the league. Adding Myles Turner would undoubtedly make them a better defensive team, but the point is that they do not need him to be successful.
Kevon Looney has started every single game thus far at center for the Warriors and while he is not close to being one of the better centers in the league, Looney is one of the ultimate “glue guys” in the NBA because he simply plays his role.

He can switch on to numerous opponents and positions off of ball-screens and understands the way the Warriors want him to play since he is now in his 7th season with the team. Going after Myles Turner is not a terrible idea in terms of fit and style of play, but he is not worth giving up three key young talents.
Wiseman, Kuminga and Moody have a very bright future in this league and with Curry, Thompson and Green all being in their 30s now, these three lottery picks represent the future core of the Golden State Warriors.
