Missing the NBA playoffs for the first time since the 2014-15 NBA season last year, the Indiana Pacers are looking to get back on track and be a real threat in the Eastern Conference. With a core of Domantas Sabonis, Malcolm Brogdon, Caris LeVert, T.J. Warren, and Myles Turner, the Pacers definitely have a lot of talent on their roster, but health has been a big concern over the years.

This team is constantly dealing with guys being in and out of the rotation due to injuries and right now, Caris LeVert is not only dealing with a back injury, but T.J. Warren has yet to make his season debut after undergoing foot surgery last year. Warren remains sidelined without a timetable for return.

Malcolm Brogdon has been playing like an All-Star talent and Domantas Sabonis is proving to be an All-Star-level player again, but Myles Turner continues to be a key talking point on this team. There has been indication the Pacers are willing to part with Caris LeVert along with Myles Turner, or Domantas Sabonis — based on reporting from The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Multiple sources said that the Pacers are receptive in trade dialogue with rival teams centered on potentially moving guard Caris LeVert and either two-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis or center Myles Turner. All three players have frequently garnered significant interest from rival teams. Pacers officials have received frequent calls on both of their big men over the past several seasons, but new head coach Rick Carlisle wanted an opportunity to spend time with Sabonis and Turner and grow with the roster. Even still, Carlisle has remained interested in seeing the frontcourt duo together.

Being an elite-level rim-protector and having the ability to make more of a difference than he currently has on offense, Myles Turner is definitely a key center that multiple teams around the league would be interested in should he become available.

LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Is Myles Turner A Long-Term Answer For Indiana Pacers?

One of those teams is the Dallas Mavericks.

Luka Doncic is beginning to look like the MVP candidate we all thought he could be entering the year and with other key contributors in Tim Hardaway Jr., Jalen Brunson, and Kristaps Porzingis, this team is not far off from being a real threat in the Western Conference.

However, they are not yet on the same level as teams like the Warriors, Suns, Lakers, Jazz and Nuggets, which is why they could very much look to add more talent at the trade deadline. Having a $10.8M TPE from trading Josh Richardson to the Celtics this offseason is definitely favorable for them in their search for more talent, but Myles Turner could be an excellent fit for this team.

The Mavericks tend to utilize their frontcourt players a lot in pick-and-roll situations with Doncic and Brunson and having the ability to step out on the perimeter to shoot threes, Turner could be paired with Porzingis to create a terrific looking two-way frontcourt.

Do the Mavericks have the assets to be able to pull off a trade for Myles Turner this season? Let’s take a look at a trade between the Indiana Pacers and Dallas Mavericks put together by Hoops Habit’s Jake Simone.
