Derrick Favors – Oklahoma City Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder are one of the youngest teams in the NBA this season and while they have not been terrible to begin the year, they are not going to be a playoff team.
Within the next two seasons, this team definitely has a chance to be special, but general manager Sam Presti’s two main goals are to get his young guys more experience and continue adding future value for them to play around with.
I would say he has done a pretty good job with this seeing as the Thunder have a total of 35 draft picks through the 2028 NBA Draft!
Draft picks and young talents are all Presti and the Thunder want right now, which is why Derrick Favors will almost definitely be on the move this season. Now in his 12th season in the NBA, Derrick Favors has always been a “bruiser-like big man” in the league, but Oklahoma City would rather move him than keep him since he could opt out of his contract at the end of the year.

Could the Raptors be a team interested in adding Derrick Favors for more frontcourt depth?
It is unlikely that the Raptors would target another big man like Favors, especially since they have a log-jam in their frontcourt and are constantly searching for ways to get guys more playing time.
Precious Achiuwa, Khem Birch, Chris Boucher, and even Pascal Siakam are options for this team at center, so adding another big man in Derrick Favors does not make much sense unless Toronto moves two of these four guys.
This is not saying though that Derrick Favors could not end up in Toronto. Who knows what kind of deals Masai Ujiri could swing at the trade deadline this season and there have been some rumors of Pascal Siakam possibly becoming available.

Should the Raptors look to move Siakam, they could be inclined to pick up another big man like Derrick Favors that way they are good on the rebounding side of things. Ultimately though, it is hard to imagine that Toronto would go out of their way to acquire another big man like Favors unless they have a big-time plan in the works.
