Would this trade make sense for the San Antonio Spurs?
With the San Antonio Spurs finding themselves being one of the worst teams in the Western Conference after a few recent underachieving seasons, it’s time to embrace adding long-term talents or acquiring assets.
Jacob Poeltl is a steady talent but lacks dynamic upside to his game. At the stage of roster construction the Spurs are in, landing a young player like James Wiseman would be a tremendous opportunity to take advantage of.
Only having to give up a future lottery protected first-round pick would make it all the more worthwhile for the Spurs to get a deal done of this kind.
The Spurs would have the option of featuring Wiseman in the team’s half-court offense as a focus in pick-and-roll actions and as an interior play-finisher all the while refining his timing on defense.
