How This Trade Impacts Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets frontcourt suffered a huge loss with Michael Porter Jr. being sidelined. Without him, the team is missing a major part of their offensive attack as he was expected to be the second option offensive behind Nikola Jokic.
Without him, it is going to take a total team effort to replace him. Aaron Gordon will have more on his plate as will Jeff Green and JaMychal Green. This would be an excellent chance to see what Bol Bol, a second-round pick from the 2019 NBA Draft, has to offer but he has yet to receive a chance.
If the team doesn’t feel that he is ready to help them win games, they could flip him for a player that is. One of those players could be Mike Muscala of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Muscala isn’t going to blow anyone away with eye-popping statistics or highlight plays but he is a steady veteran that can help Denver settle things down in their frontcourt. There are a lot of minutes available with Porter sidelined and he could soak up some of them.

Muscala is a good floor spacer, something the Nuggets need more of. Denver is currently ranked 26th in the NBA in 3-point shooting percentage at 32.3 percent and 22nd in 3-point makes with 11.2 per game. Muscala is a 37.2 percent shooter in his career and is connecting on an impressive 45.1 percent this season.
The second-round picks are solid value for Denver as well. It would give them some more draft capital to swing a few more trades down the line should another need arise throughout the duration of the season.
