Would this trade make sense for the Houston Rockets?

If all the Houston Rockets had to do in order to land Ben Simmons would be to part with a trade package that features Eric Gordon, Danuel House Jr., and D.J. Augustin as the players involved, the team needs to accept that offer faster than Daryl Morey can say “Damian Lillard” or “Bradley Beal” and get it done.

The Rockets already face a situation where it’s clear that Gordon needs to be on the move. Houston has the worst team in the NBA and keeping a soon-to-be 33-year-old around doesn’t make much sense.

D.J. Augustin fits into the same category as Gordon but is all the more urgent to move given he is playing on an expiring contract and will become a free agent in the offseason.

Only having to give two first-round picks in this trade makes it all the more logical for the Rockets. Especially when considering there are no picks from the 2022 NBA Draft involved and Houston would part with only one of their own selections to get a deal done.
