Brooklyn Nets Receive: PF Kristaps Porzingis, PG Jalen Brunson
Dallas Mavericks Receive: PG Kyrie Irving, PF Day’Ron Sharpe

This is a rather straightforward NBA trade scenario from Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz as Kyrie Irving and Da’Ron Sharpe would be headed to the Dallas Mavericks while Kristaps Porzingis and Jalen Brunson would find their way to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange.

With the COVID-19 mandate element being a factor with any Irving trade, there is some real “eye of the beholder” type of interpretation that is required when evaluating what is fair value and what’s not.

Would Kristaps Porzingis and Jalen Brunson be enough to land Kyrie Irving in a regular environment? No, of course not. However, we aren’t in Kansas anymore.

There is much greater optimism surrounding Porzingis in Dallas with his improved recent player after returning from lower back soreness. For reference, he is averaging 23.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while going 51.% from the field, 37.7% from deep, and 93.2% from the line in his last nine games.

Jalen Brunson is in the midst of a career year for the Mavericks — averaging 15.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in 17 outings.

Would the Mavericks be comfortable parting with Porzingis and Brunson in exchange for Irving knowing the supporting cast around Luka Doncic is already thin? There’s risk associated with Irving, as many are aware.

Let’s see how this NBA trade scenario centered around Kyrie Irving would impact both the Dallas Mavericks and Brooklyn Nets.
