Chicago Bulls
At 12-6, the Chicago Bulls are one game behind the Brooklyn Nets for the best record in the Eastern Conference and they have been one of the most balanced teams in the league in regards to offensive and defensive production.
Chicago went out and made a big move at last season’s trade deadline to get Zach LaVine more help by acquiring All-Star center Nikola Vucevic from the Orlando Magic and this offseason, they continued to add more talent by signing Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, and All-Star wing DeMar DeRozan.
This team is not just having a good start to the season, they are a legit title contender in the Eastern Conference this year. However, their bench depth is definitely a concern, especially with Patrick Williams possibly out for the year.
Ranking 28th in the league in bench points per game on the season, the Bulls will likely look to add one or two more scoring threats that they can rely on in their second unit. Seeing as they are right under the tax line for this season and already over the salary cap, Chicago’s options are limited, but they do have some moveable contracts.

Derrick Jones Jr. is in the final year of his contract and making $9.7M, and Coby White has two years left on his rookie contract, making him a very intriguing trade candidate. Maybe the Bulls want to keep both guys in their efforts to contend in the Eastern Conference, but these are the two contracts that would likely be on the move should the Bulls look to add another high-level talent to their roster.
The Bulls are one of the best teams in the NBA right now and they will likely remain at the top of the Eastern Conference standings all year long, but their lack of scoring depth has to be a concern right now.
