Does this trade make sense for the Denver Nuggets?
The Nuggets struck a deal with the Magic at the deadline last season for Aaron Gordon and doing so again this year for Terrence Ross is not a bad idea whatsoever. JaMychal Green and Zeke Nnaji hold minimal roles on this team right now and neither player really seems to be an “x-factor” for this team.
Terrence Ross can certainly be an “x-factor” off-the-bench and he proved this last season by being in contention for Sixth-Man of the Year.
Since the Magic were terrible and Ross missed a chunk of games during the regular season, he was not a finalist for the award, but the veteran wing did finish 10th in the league a season ago in points scored off-the-bench.
In just 46 games, Ross scored 666 total points off-the-bench last season and he averaged 15.1 points per game in games where he did not start.

So far this season, Ross is only averaging 10.1 points and shooting just 39.4% from the floor, but his minutes are down and he is not getting as many opportunities to carry this offense due to the emergence of young players such as Cole Anthony and Jalen Suggs in the Magic’s backcourt.
Still being a high-level offensive threat with the ball in his hands, Ross would provide some stability to a Nuggets’ bench that currently ranks 25th in the league in scoring.
Outside of Jeff Green, Denver really does not have anyone they can trust fully with the ball in their hands on their bench, which is why trading for Terrence Ross would be a key move.

Zeke Nnaji and JaMychal Green is a very cheap price to pay for Ross, especially since the Magic are asking for a first-round draft pick for their veteran wing. Both Orlando and Boston are in the Eastern Conference as well, so Denver would not have to worry about having the players they traded hurt them this year or moving forward.
Denver is going to have to make a move at some point if Michael Porter Jr. is to miss the remainder of the season and going after Orlando’s veteran definitely makes sense for them.
