Devin Booker – Phoenix Suns

Coming off their run to the NBA Finals last year, the Phoenix Suns started the year 1-3 and were not getting much production at all from Devin Booker. He was averaging 21.5 points per game through Phoenix’s first four games of the year, but he was shooting just 40.7% from the floor, 33.3% from three-point range and was averaging just under 2 turnovers per game.

Since November, Devin Booker is averaging 22.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and is shooting 44.7% from the floor, 42.1% from three-point range. Booker has really stepped up offensively for the Suns and this has been a key driving force to their current 13-game win-streak.

Last year, one of the biggest reasons the Suns were able to make the NBA Finals was because of Booker’s development all year long. Chris Paul being on this roster really helped take a lot of the stress off of the young shooting guard and as a result, he was able to focus on becoming a better all-around scoring threat.

At times, Devin Booker just gets into a zone and he cannot be stopped offensively, much like some of the other All-Stars in this league. The Suns are going to need this kind of production moving forward from Booker and him shooting 38.5% from deep on the year is definitely a promising sight.

As a team, Phoenix shot 37.8% from three-point range last season, which ranked them 7th in the league. With Jae Crowder, Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson and now Landry Shamet also being three-point shooting threats, the Suns are able to spread the ball out on the perimeter even more this year, making both the lives of Chris Paul and Devin Booker easier.

Phoenix still looks like a real contender in the Western Conference this season and what many people tend to forget is that Devin Booker is only 25-years-old. He is still growing as a player and is only going to continue getting better.
