2. Frank Vogel
The Los Angeles Lakers are in championship or bust mode as long as LeBron James is on the team. It is not Frank Vogel’s fault solely, as he doesn’t have much say in roster construction, but he could be on the hot seat if the team struggles again.
Vogel won the NBA Finals in his first season as head coach during the 2019-20 season. Last season, injuries to James and Anthony Davis derailed the team, as they looked like one of the best teams in the NBA before players began missing time.
This season, it has been more of the season. Injuries have been persistent, but this Lakers team hasn’t looked like a true contender at any point yet during the season. The roster looks mismatched and lacks cohesion, as the Russell Westbrook experiment is not going as well as the front office had hoped.
The Lakers are currently eighth in the Western Conference with a record of 9-9. That is not going to cut it for the purple and gold and Vogel could be the scapegoat at the end of the season, especially if the team is unable to qualify for the postseason field.

After winning the title only two years ago, Vogel should have some equity left. But, you never know with a team that has James on the roster, as some sweeping changes could be made during the offseason if the struggles continue.
