This Lakers-Pacers Trade Is Headlined By Russell Westbrook

Things have not worked out as well as the Los Angeles Lakers had hoped they would when they acquired Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards. The organization knew they were taking a big risk trading for the former NBA MVP and that it would take some time for things to jell together.

Adding Westbrook to a team that already has LeBron James and Anthony Davis in place needs some time for chemistry to build. It will take sacrifices from everyone to make things work and the team is still trying to find their way.

One of the issues many people believed the Lakers would have after acquiring Westbrook was finding suitable depth. A lot of their depth from last year’s team departed, as Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Montrezl Harrell were involved in the deal. Those players are now key pieces for a thriving Washington Wizards team.

Alex Caruso, Andre Drummond, Markieff Morris, and Ben McLemore all signed elsewhere in free agency. Marc Gasol went back to Europe.
