How This Trade Impacts Toronto Raptors
The Toronto Raptors will bide their time when it comes to trading Goran Dragic. He is someone that contending teams will likely call about during the season as he could be a nice upgrade for a team’s point guard depth chart for the stretch run of the season.
In this scenario, it is the Denver Nuggets that come calling. Dragic can slide right into their point guard spot to help the team overcome the loss of Jamal Murray, who tore his ACL last season.
For Toronto, this is a solid deal. They may hold out for better draft compensation, as they are adding a lot of long-term money with Monte Morris and JaMychal Green having more years on their contract than Dragic, who is on an expiring deal.
Morris can slot right into whatever role the team planned on using Dragic in. He is an excellent facilitator and has one of the best assist-to-turnover ratios in the NBA, as he can run an offense and protect the ball as well.

The Raptors have a crowded frontcourt, so finding minutes for Green may not be easy unless other moves are made. However, they should find minutes for Bol Bol to see what he can do with extended runs.
His highlights are impressive as he stands 7’2” but has some ball-handling and perimeter skills. He can also provide some rim protection, possessing some intriguing two-way potential. The question is, can his slight frame hold up banging on the interior? It wouldn’t hurt the Raptors to see, especially if they are rebuilding.
Acquiring him as part of the deal may make taking on the extra money worthwhile for the Raptors.
