DeMar DeRozan – Chicago Bulls

Current Odds: +4000

Perhaps the most impactful offseason signing to this point in the year has been DeMar DeRozan on the Chicago Bulls. Now in his 13th season in the league, DeRozan has always been a player that is oftentimes overlooked, but he has been one of the best players in the league so far this year.

The Bulls are 10-5, their best start through 15 games since the 2011-12 season and in that year, which was arguably the best Chicago team since the 60-win 2010-11 team that went on to make the Eastern Conference Finals and DeRozan has played a big role in their success.

Obviously, having two All-Stars in Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic also on the roster overshadows some of DeMar DeRozan’s overall contributions, but his numbers have been as good as anybody else’s in the league.

Through 15 games, DeMar DeRozan is averaging 26.6 points (career-high), 5.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists and is shooting 50% from the floor, 35.0% from three-point range (career-high). He has scored an impressive 20-plus points in 12 of his first 15 games this season.

The 4x All-Star is well on his way to making an All-Star appearance in his first season with the Bulls and if he continues to play as well as he has been, then DeMar DeRozan could very well remain a possible MVP candidate.

At 32-years-old, many players begin to deteriorate and near the end of their careers, but DeMar DeRozan has been given new life in Chicago. He looks more energized, more focused and ready to contend for a title like he did years ago in Toronto.

The Bulls are real championship contenders this year and while Zach LaVine may get all the attention because of his high-flying, acrobatic players, DeMar DeRozan is the heart of this team. If he continues to play at the level he is playing at, the Bulls will be one of the best teams in the league record-wise this season.
