Dallas Mavericks Receive: G De’Aaron Fox, C Tristan Thompson, F Moe Harkless
Sacramento Kings Receive: C/F Kristaps Porzingis, G Jalen Brunson, F Josh Green, C Willie Cauley-Stein, 2025 First Round Pick
It would be a bit of a surprise to see the Sacramento Kings part ways with De’Aaron Fox. However, keep in mind, the team has added no shortage of guards through the NBA Draft in recent years in Tyrese Haliburton and Davion Mitchell.
Fox has struggled to begin the 2021-22 season after having a mightily impressive stretch-run to close his previous campaign. His inability to convert on jump shots at a high clip has continued to be a problem. At this point, he does not appear to be the caliber of player to lead a franchise as its best player — at least, one that wants to win at a high-level.
Fox would be the centerpiece of this trade going back to the Dallas Mavericks to help provide a secondary ball handler for Luka Doncic — taking needed pressure off him throughout games.
Kristaps Porzingis would have to lead the way to the Sacramento Kings. He has been quite impressive since returning from his back tightness injury — averaging 22.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.7 assists on strong efficiency over his previous six outings.

The Kings would also get Jalen Brunson as a replacement in the back court along with Josh Green and Willie Cauley-Stein and a future first-round pick. Sacramento could involve Brunson as a sixth-man behind Haliburton, who would emerge as the franchise point guard.
Let’s take a closer look and see how this NBA trade scenario centered around De’Aaron Fox would impact both the Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings.
