If there are two NBA teams that need to make a trade the most, it is the New Orleans Pelicans and Minnesota Timberwolves. Both sides have been near the bottom of the Western Conference for years now with no end in sight. It will be interesting to see if the two sides are determined to get together to help the other.

Minnesota has been unable to build a winner around Karl-Anthony Towns, who they selected with the first pick in 2015. Since then, Minnesota has made the postseason just once.

There comes a time where a franchise has to decide whether to blow it up or not and the Timberwolves are approaching that decision. If they do, Towns is the logical choice to move because of the return that he would bring. Towns is one of the best big men in the league but the Timberwolves have not been able to put the right pieces around him.

If Towns is truly on the block, the New Orleans Pelicans could be an intriguing landing spot. Zion Williamson is another No. 1 overall pick who is viewed as a franchise player. He has had trouble getting on the court and the Pelicans have certainly suffered.
