How This Trade Impacts Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been looking to move off the contract of Kevin Love for a while now. He has played well in the eight games that he has appeared in this season, averaging 10 points with 7.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
His shooting numbers are well below his career averages, as he is making 36.1 percent of his shots overall and 20.7 percent of his 3-point attempts. It is hard to imagine those numbers not having some regression to the mean.
While the Cavaliers came into the season wanting to move Love, they may have to rethink that position for the time being. With Evan Mobley set to miss a few weeks, there is now an opening in the frontcourt that Love can fill.
He should be an integral part of their rotation, but once Mobley returns, this trade with the Sacramento Kings for Buddy Hield is one they should look into making. Hield is a marksman from deep and that is exactly what Cleveland needs.

The Cavaliers are currently 21st in the NBA in 3-point percentage, 23rd in 3-point makes and 21st in attempts. Hield is attempting 10.7 3-points per game this season and knocking them down at a 40.4 percent clip. That is some elite 3-point shooting on volume like that and would help take Cleveland’s offense to the next level.
The Cleveland Cavaliers would also be getting a familiar face back in Tristan Thompson who can help provide depth in the frontcourt and improve a poor rebounding team.
