Evan Mobley – Cleveland Cavaliers
If he was in any other draft class, Evan Mobley would have been the No. 1 overall pick, but he was overshadowed by guards like Cade Cunningham and Jalen Green this year. Even though he was drafted 3rd overall by the Cavaliers, Evan Mobley is a No. 1 pick quality player and has proved that with his play on the court this season in Cleveland.
Next to Jarrett Allen and Lauri Markkanen, two other 7-footers on the Cavaliers’ roster, nobody really knew what to expect from Mobley early on in the season, but he has quickly turned himself into the Rookie of the Year front-runner to this point in the season.
Evan Mobley is currently averaging 14.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.6 blocks and is shooting 49.4% from the floor. He is currently second in the league out of all rookies in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage (min. 400 minutes played), making the young 7-footer one of the most impactful 20-year-olds in the league right now.
Cleveland has found a ton of success early on in the year and this is definitely in large part because of Evan Mobley’s contributions on both ends of the court. There really is nothing he cannot do and with his freakish 7’4” wingspan, the rookie is virtually able to guard any player in the league.

Getting strong and bulking up a little more is going to be the next process in Evan Mobley’s development, but the Cavaliers have to be extremely happy and impressed with how he has played early on in the year.
