New York Knicks Receive: F Maxi Kleber, C Moses Brown, DAL 2025 2nd Round Pick (Top-48 Protected)

The biggest question mark on the Dallas Mavericks’ roster right now is Kristaps Porzingis. Not only are there questions about if Porzingis can still be the “second All-Star talent” on this roster next to Luka Doncic, but there are some serious concerns about his durability and long-term health.

Porzingis has missed a lot of time every season since suffering his significant ACL injury and the 7’3” big man just looks like he has lost a step in his game.

He can definitely still make an impact for this team, but adding a guy like Mitchell Robinson to take a lot of the defensive and rebounding load off of Kristaps Porzingis could work wonders for the Dallas Mavericks.

To this point in his career, Mitchell Robinson has averaged 8.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and has shot 71.1% from the floor, making him a young, impactful center that could allow the Mavericks to form one of the better defensive frontcourts in the league.

Mitchell Robinson even led the league in field goal percentage (74.2%) during the 2019-20 season, making him a guy that the Mavs could rely on to score when he gets the ball in the low-post or off the rebound for second-chance points.

One of the biggest reasons why the New York Knicks could look to move Robinson besides the fact that he is in the final year of his rookie deal is that they won without him last year. Between a broken foot and broken hand last year, the Knicks still found success with Taj Gibson and Nerlens Noel, resulting in them claiming the 4-seed in the Eastern Conference.

Obviously Robinson being out there on the floor makes the Knicks a better team theoretically, but they have proven that they can win without him, making the young big man expendable to this team. Moving him for Maxi Kleber and Moses Brown gives the Knicks another impactful two-way forward in Kleber, as well as a young center to potentially build with for the future.

Kleber averaging 7.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and shooting 47.8% from three-point range gives the Knicks another key talent in their frontcourt next to Julius Randle, making them an even better defensive team than they already are.
