Panic Meter: Teams Most In Need Of Ben Simmons Trade

Ben Simmons, Philadelphia 76ers, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The standoff between the Philadelphia 76ers and NBA All-Star Ben Simmons does not seem to be any closer to a resolution. Simmons remains away from the team as he tends to his mental health, preparing himself to return to the court. He is also receiving treatment for a back ailment.

The team is holding out hope that Simmons will return to play with them, but that seems more and more unlikely with each passing day. At this point, a trade still seems like the most likely outcome should a team step up with an offer that appeases Daryl Morey and the team’s front office.

Before the team was hit with some health and safety protocols, the 76ers were rolling. Joel Embiid being sidelined is what really threw them off track, as Philadelphia has lost four in a row with him sidelined.

That has pushed them down in the standings, but the team has proven that they do not need Simmons to be successful. They were 8-2 to begin the season without him with one of the best offensive attacks in the league. Tyrese Maxey has done a wonderful job filling in for him as the starting point guard to help keep things rolling.

As long as Embiid is healthy and in the lineup, this team is still going to be a very competitive one in the Eastern Conference. Seeing how well they performed to start the season, they could be more open to moving Simmons.

Plenty of teams around the league want to acquire him, but there are a few that might need him more than others. The Cleveland Cavaliers were heavily involved, but are playing great basketball and could just stay the course with what they started.

Here are three teams most in need of trade for Ben Simmons that could be entering panic mode sooner than later.
