The Phoenix Suns could take a different route at the center position if they move on from Deandre Ayton. If they want to upgrade at another spot on the roster, they could look to take on a high-upside player in the middle. One potential target could be the Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors are playing excellent basketball right now and look like title contenders. If they want to cash in on this opportunity to get their core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green another shot at a championship, they could look to move someone like James Wiseman.
Wiseman has immense potential, but it is anyone’s guess if he is ready to contribute to a team that is in win-now mode. They would likely swap him out for Ayton right now as Ayton is a proven playoff performer after the run Phoenix made last season.
The Suns have a little more leeway than the Warriors when it comes to that as Devin Booker is a star and at 25-years old has plenty of basketball ahead of him.
