Leverage Cam Reddish while his value is high
Speaking of trades, it may not be a terrible idea for the Atlanta Hawks to see what they can get for former first-round pick Cam Reddish.
There were a lot of rumors this offseason about the availability of Reddish and while the Hawks did not make any moves to trade him, the third year wing is definitely one of their better trade assets right now.
Drafted 10th overall in 2019, Cam Reddish has always been a consistent player for Atlanta off the bench and is once again proving to be an effective scorer this season. Through 10 games, Reddish is averaging 12.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and is shooting 41.1% from the floor, 35.6% from three-point range off the bench.
With De’Andre Hunter, Kevin Huerter and Danilo Gallinari, the Atlanta Hawks have a logjam on the wing and could take this opportunity of Reddish playing well to trade him for a lot of value, especially since he still has another year on his rookie contract.

Maybe Reddish is a guy that they could look to leverage for another frontcourt piece like Chris Boucher, but nonetheless, it would be wise for Atlanta to at least gauge the market on his value right now.
Seeing as the Hawks just agreed to long-term extensions with John Collins, Trae Young, Clint Capela and Kevin Huerter, they are not going to have much money to spend on big contracts moving forward unless they were to get rid of Danilo Gallinari and the $41.9M remaining on his contract.
Moving Gallinari over Reddish could be something management favors at the moment, but they could definitely get more immediate/future value by trading Cam Reddish ahead of the trade deadline this season.
Unfortunately for the Hawks, they just do not have the ability to keep all of their young talents and versus De’Andre Hunter, the Hawks would probably favor Hunter over Reddish anyways in terms of a possible long-term extension.

Cam Reddish can absolutely prove to be a key “Sixth-Man” for the Hawks throughout the rest of the season, but seeing as they are already invested in guys like Gallinari, Huerter and others, it would make sense for Atlanta to try and get the most value they can for Reddish now before he enters the final year of his contract.
