Would this trade make sense for the Philadelphia 76ers?

The equation for the Sixers was not a difficult one but it was all about getting the right front office minds in the building. Once they did this, Philadelphia was able to put the right players on the floor and build a legitimate threat. This could continue if McCollum is acquired.

The benefit is clear. Simmons out, McCollum in. This would improve the offense immediately. With a big man like Embiid down low, it is clear that the Sixers need shooters along the perimeter.

Embiid faces plenty of double teams and it would make sense for Philadelphia to have options open for some shots. This worked last season with Seth Curry and Danny Green.

It has the chance to work once again. McCollum is the type of difference-maker that Maury was talking about when he said Simmons would not be moved for anything less.
