With the Orlando Magic set to be one of the worst teams in the league this NBA season due to them rebuilding, it should not be surprising to see them interested in possibly moving veteran wing Terrence Ross. Now in his 10th season in the NBA, Ross has played really well in Orlando the last few seasons, making him a key trade target for some playoff contenders around the league.

Entering the year, new head coach Jamahl Mosley spoke highly of Ross and stated that he would like to keep the veteran wing around as long as they can given his leadership role within this young core, but all offseason long, there have been rumors that Terrence Ross was drawing some trade interest around the league.

Ross only played in 46 games last season due to multiple injuries, but he still put together a great season, averaging a career-high 15.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and shooting 41.2% from the floor. Now 30-years-old, the Magic wing is older and not someone teams will look to build around for the foreseeable future, but he is on a very movable contract.

Set to make $12.5M this season and then $11.5M next season, Terrence Ross is a player that multiple contending teams should be targeting. One of those teams who should be and could very well be interested in Ross ahead of this year’s trade deadline is the Los Angeles Clippers.

Being just about $30M over the tax line for this season, the Clippers are really financially challenged and cannot make many trades, but they do have the ability to match contracts in trades, allowing them to pursue a player like Ross.

The Clippers need guys who can contribute in many different ways offensively, especially with Kawhi Leonard being out indefinitely.

In the Western Conference Semifinals last season against the Utah Jazz, Kawhi suffered a partially torn ACL in his right knee and he is not expected to return to action until March 2022 at the earliest right now. As a result, Paul George is the sole All-Star on this team trying to lead the Clippers back to the Western Conference Finals.

With several key veterans on their roster in Nic Batum, Serge Ibaka, and Marcus Morris Sr., the Clippers definitely have a solid supporting cast, but George needs some more help right now.

Terrence Ross could be an excellent fit for this team, but how could the LA Clippers acquire him?
