The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to make it back to the playoffs for the first time since the 2017-18 NBA season when they were eliminated in the first round and Karl-Anthony Towns is going to be a big part of their potential success.

So far through 7 games this year, Towns has been terrific for Minnesota and looks like one of the best centers in the league once again. He currently leads the Timberwolves in scoring with 23.9 points per game and is averaging a career-high 1.7 steals per game as well.

Defensively, this Timberwolves team has taken a massive step in the right direction, but still, there seems to be some negative attention being shined on Minnesota’s All-Star center. Recently, Karl-Anthony Towns’ Twitter account liked a post stating: “#FreeKAT” and shortly after this occurred, Towns took to social media saying that his account had been hacked and that he is happy in Minnesota

It is definitely weird for someone to hack Towns’ Twitter account and only like a post suggesting that he be traded or leave the Timberwolves, but crazier things have happened before! “Sorry to the Wolves fans. I ain’t want to cause no hysteria or anything like that. But just know I’m very happy,” KAT stated after this unwanted drama. “I know we’re on a skid so it came at the worst possible time, that little hacking. I’m excited to hopefully build more years here, not just this year.”

As of right now, things seem to be going alright in Minnesota and they do have a talented young team that is only going to get better, but the suggestion that Karl-Anthony Towns should leave Minnesota has definitely gained traction over the years.

Now in his 7th NBA season, Towns has been a part of five teams over the years that finished the year with a losing record and he is going to be turning 26-years-old on November 15.

At some point, winning has to take precedence over losing, especially with Towns being in the prime of his career, so could he actually be thinking about possibly leaving Minnesota after this season if the Timberwolves miss the playoffs again?

It is definitely a very real possibility that KAT could be thinking about his future right now, but all indications point to him wanting to win in Minnesota and not be traded.

As a result, the Minnesota Timberwolves are not going to be looking to move their All-Star center anytime soon, but let’s take a look at three trades that could come their way ahead of the trade deadline involving Towns that could be worth taking a long look at.
