Detroit Pistons

Coming off back-to-back 20-win seasons, the Detroit Pistons enter the 2021-22 season with one goal in mind — continue to develop their young talents.

The Pistons are one of the youngest teams in the NBA right now with an average age of about 24-years-old and their longest-tenured player is Killian Hayes, who was drafted 7th overall last year!

The turnover this DetroitPistons’ roster has seen over the years has been quite dramatic and GM Troy Weaver is finally looking to get this organization back on the right path to success.

Jerami Grant and Kelly Olynyk are really solid, experienced building blocks for this franchise, but their roster is highlighted by first-round picks in Killian Hayes, Saddiq Bey, Isaiah Stewart, and this year’s No. 1 overall pick, Cade Cunningham.

With only five guys on their roster having 5-plus years of experience in the NBA, not much success should be expected from this group this season, but this does not mean Detroit cannot be a competitive team. Last season, they were a decent defensive team, but really struggled to score on the offensive end of the floor

Finding ways to get everyone involved on offense and figure out who can be long-term building blocks for them is going to be a challenge for the Detroit Pistons this year, which is why we should not expect much winning from this team.

With a head coach that has proven to win games and make the playoffs before in Dwane Casey, as well as some really talented young players in Cunningham, Bey and Stewart, the future is definitely bright for the Detroit Pistons, but they are still a long ways away from being anything special in the Eastern Conference.

A Top-5 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft is in their immediate future, which is good news seeing as the Thunder currently hold onto their 2022 first-round pick with Top-16 protection on it.
