Paul George is Playing at MVP Level

So far this season, Paul George has led the Clippers in scoring in five of their first seven games and currently leads the league in 40-plus point games. The All-Star forward has continued to challenge his teammates and was very vocal about where his team is at after their most recent victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

“You don’t have a choice, we got to start winning games,” George stated. “We got to start getting some momentum. At some point, things have to change for us. We’re not a young team. We’re not a team that’s, you know, let’s just wait for guys to come back. The time is now for us.”

Having an average age of just under 27-years-old, the Los Angeles Clippers are one of the more experienced teams in the NBA and they have been moving forward with that “next man up” mentality as Kawhi Leonard watches from the bench.

Guys like Marcus Morris Sr., Nicolas Batum, Eric Bledsoe, Reggie Jackson and others have all been in the league for years now and everyone except for Bledsoe was a part of this Western Conference Finals team from a year ago, so the Clippers have no excuses for not being a top-tier team again.

Of course losing a Top-10 player in the league in Kawhi Leonard complicates things for this team, but Paul George is one of the best players in the league and many tend to forget this.

The NBA Bubble had a negative effect on many across the league, not just Paul George, and his performances there should not and do not define what kind of player he is in this league.
