LA Clippers

Without Kawhi Leonard, we all expected the LA Clippers to regress this season, but they have really struggled offensively to begin the year. Los Angeles ranked 27th in the league in offensive rating right now and they are only averaging 102.2 points per game, which ranks them 26th in the NBA.

Paul George has continued proving why he is a perennial All-Star talent, as he is averaging 28.3 points per game on the year so far, but only three other players on this roster are averaging double-figure scoring, one of which is Luke Kennard on the LA Clippers’ bench.

Marcus Morris Sr. and Serge Ibaka have been dealing with injuries early on in the year, so this team has been left short-handed at times, but the LA Clippers are going to have to make some trades this year if they are to once again make the Western Conference Finals in order to have a chance to make the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.

Paul George cannot be the only person scoring for this team and while both Reggie Jackson and Eric Bledsoe will provide him with some secondary scoring, they are really struggling to get things going on offense without Kawhi Leonard.

The LA Clippers have not been afraid to pay taxes on their contending teams before, which is why it is safe to assume that they will once again look to spend money to keep this team a contender. Who they will target remains unknown at this point in time, but it is time to begin worrying about the Clippers if they continue to roll out the same rotations each and every night.

Ty Lue is a championship-proven head coach in this league and he has some great, experienced players on his roster, but change needs to happen. Kawhi Leonard is not on the mend and the LA Clippers will be lucky to get him back before April 2022, which is why trading for another All-Star or high-level talent is something we are going to see happen.
