2. John Wall
The Houston Rockets are someone that a lot of people have their eyes on this season. They aren’t expected to win many games, but they could be active on the trade market once again as sellers.
After trading James Harden and P.J. Tucker last season, the team has more players that could be on the move this season. One of those players is John Wall.
The Rockets and Wall agreed that he wouldn’t play in games with the team. Instead, they are working together to find him his next team to play for. The Dallas Mavericks could be one team that shows interest.
John Wall showed some flashes last season in his return from a left heel and Achilles injury. He went more than two years between NBA games, so there would assuredly be some rust. Now another year removed from his surgery, Wall could return closer to the player he was before the injury.

It would be a risk acquiring John Wall, but it could be one the Mavericks are willing to take if they could convince the Rockets to take on Kristaps Porzingis. Porzingis seems to have run his course in Dallas and they could consider getting back someone who averaged 20.6 points, albeit inefficiently, and 6.9 assists worth the gamble.
Dallas would also be smart to look into acquiring Christian Wood, a big man who could produce in the way the Mavericks had hoped Porzingis would.
