3. Collin Sexton
The Dallas Mavericks went into the offseason hoping to land a secondary ball-handler to pair with Luka Doncic. They wanted to take some of the pressure off of him as the sole offensive creator, whether it was for his teammates or himself.
They entered the regular season without accomplishing that goal. Dallas didn’t land the player that fits that description, but they could certainly still use one. One player that could be available is Collin Sexton of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Collin Sexton and the Cavaliers failed to agree on a rookie extension before the season, so he is heading toward restricted free agency next offseason. He was reportedly seeking a contract more lucrative than Cleveland was willing to commit, putting his future with the organization into question.
He is someone that the Mavericks should look into. His skillset would mesh well with Doncic in the backcourt, especially with his scoring prowess.

Collin Sexton can score the ball, averaging a career-high 23.4 points per game last season. He does it from every level of the offense, as he has proven to be a solid 3-point shooter and relentlessly attacks the basket. He has made a career-high percentage of his 2-pointers this season and once he gets his 3-point shot going, he could be in for another career season.
Sexton is a developing playmaker, so he wouldn’t be relied upon too much to run the offense with Luka Doncic taking care of that. He would provide the team with someone capable of doing it though to help get Doncic to different areas of the court.

While Collin Sexton isn’t the best defender, as his size and length limit him, you will never have to worry about his effort. He brings it every night, playing hard with a non-stop motor.
