The New York Knicks have jumped out to a good start in the 2021-22 NBA season. They are 5-2, picking up all of the momenta they had last season when they surprised everyone with a 41-31 record.

The moves that Leon Rose and the front office made are paying off, as the Knicks are an offensive juggernaut in the early going. The defense has slipped a bit, but you know Tom Thibodeau will get that back on track eventually.

The additions the Knicks made in the offseason were made to improve the offense, knowing the defensive performance could drop off slightly. But, a reason for the struggles on that end of the court could be the injuries to the center position.

Nerlens Noel, who re-signed with the Knicks on a three-year, $27.7 million deal, has yet to play in a game. Taj Gibson has been excellent replacing him, but he has missed a few games himself for the birth of his child and he has tweaked his ankle.

Could New York get aggressive and look to make an addition in the middle? Rookie Jericho Sims, who is on a two-way contract, has been given some spot minutes behind Mitchell Robinson. But Robinson is coming off some injuries of his own, so depth at the center spot is important.

New York has seen a lot of Mo Bamba this season, already playing the Orlando Magic twice. Could he be someone the team targets? Here is a hypothetical deal that would bring Bamba back home to New York.
