Philadelphia 76ers Deal Ben Simmons To Sacramento Kings

It is no secret that Ben Simmons does not want to play in Philadelphia anymore, but do the 76ers actually want to keep him now?

After playing a long game of “cat and mouse” this offseason, the Sixers were finally able to get Simmons to report to team activities and practices, but he really does seem unmotivated at the moment.

If getting kicked out of practice and suspended for one game by the Philadelphia 76ers is not the definition of not wanting to be there, I don’t know what is! The 3x All-Star has had his struggles on the offensive end of the court, but Ben Simmons truly is one of the better defensive players in the entire NBA.

Earlier this offseason, several teams were inquiring with the Philadelphia 76ers about a Ben Simmons trade, one of those teams being the Sacramento Kings. With De’Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton, Harrison Barnes, and others, the Kings truly believe they have a team that could contend for a playoff spot with the addition of Simmons, but what would they be willing to give up to get him?

The Philadelphia 76ers and Daryl Morey have been very adamant on the fact that they want an All-Star-level and/or championship-level player in any trade involving Ben Simmons and the Kings do not seem to have these kinds of assets to offer up.

Marvin Bagley III and Buddy Hield seem like the two most reasonable players to trade away for Simmons, but the Sixers seem to want De’Aaron Fox in a trade with Sacramento.

Seeing as the Sacramento Kings are unwilling to give their potentially All-Star point guard up, trade talks have settled down between these two teams.

If the Kings really intend on making the playoffs this year and breaking their 15-year playoff drought, they will do what is necessary to acquire Ben Simmons, but it really does seem like De’Aaron Fox is “untouchable” for this team.

It will be interesting to see if the Kings revisit trade talks with the Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons, but at this point, it does appear that the Sixers are moving forward with trying to mend their relationship with their All-Star.
