2. Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz was the cream of the crop in the NBA regular season during the 2020-21 campaign and once again look to be this season as well. They are 5-1, which is the franchise’s best start since the 2008-09 season. Utah is handling business per usual. Their +12.9 point differential is second in the NBA behind the aforementioned Miami Heat.

The Jazz was the last undefeated team remaining in the NBA, starting the season off with five victories before being upended by the Chicago Bulls. However, starting point guard Mike Conley did sit that game out as a precaution to start a back-to-back.

The Jazz has a balanced attack with seven players averaging at least seven points per game. Five of them are in double-figures, led by Donovan Mitchell with 23 per game. Rudy Gobert has been excellent to begin the season as well.

Gobert is the first player in NBA history to record at least 16 points and 14 rebounds in the first five games of a season. He is averaging 16.3 points and 17.3 rebounds to go along with 1.7 blocks per game.
