With the Toronto Raptors heading in a new direction as a franchise, they are not only going to be focusing on some of the young talents present on this roster, but they will be trying to integrate and bring in some other versatile, young players that could fit into what they are building.

Trey Burke may just be a place-holder at the moment for them in this trade, but Josh Green is definitely a player who brings some value. Dallas drafted Green 18th overall in last year’s draft and while he did not play much his rookie season, the 6’5” shooting guard gained some valuable experience with Team Australia in the Olympic Games this past summer and could very well be a guy to make a big jump during his second season in the league.

No matter what position they play, Toronto is going to be looking to add value to their roster if they are to trade Goran Dragic and they definitely receive that between the Mavericks and Thunder. As for Dallas, Dragic is a player who can step into a starting role next to Luka Doncic right away and he could even come off the bench to lead their second unit.

For his career, Goran Dragic has averaged 13.9 points and has shot 36.4% from three-point range, making him an immediate secondary scoring threat in the Mavericks’ offense. They have not made it out of the first round since they won the title in 2011, so Dallas is definitely going to need more talent on their roster to do so this year.

So where does Oklahoma City come from and fit into this whole equation? Thunder general manager Sam Presti is always looking to get involved in trades, especially if there are draft picks involved.

At the cost of a role player in Kenrich Williams, who is not going to be a long-term building block for this team, the Thunder would be able to get two future second-round picks and Dwight Powell, who may have more value to a team like Oklahoma City than many would imagine.

Toronto is going to be looking to move Goran Dragic before the halfway point in the season, the Mavericks will definitely be interested in Dragic and the Thunder are always looking to make some trades, so there may actually be some potential for a three-way trade here.
