Would this trade make sense for the Detroit Pistons?
The Detroit Pistons are one of the worst teams in the NBA heading into the season. It’s going to take some time to rebuild and Jerami Grant being involved in a trade could help to position themselves for the future.
The raised value around Grant comes from his best statistical season as a pro. He was able to thrive in a role on a poor team on both ends of the floor. This was not a surprise given the fact that Grant always had potential but took a lesser role.
With two years left on his contract, the Pistons can ask for a bit more from a team in return. Myles Turner would join a strong group in the frontcourt to build around for the Pistons. Isaiah Stewart has shown quality flashes, but Turner’s overall defensive impact is on another level.
Cade Cunningham is joining Saddiq Bey, who was named first-team all-rookie. Isaiah Stewart could complete the core and have Detroit on the right path.
