Does this trade make sense for the Oklahoma City Thunder?

It is no secret around the league that the Thunder are still looking to add more draft picks if they can and in this trade, they would be adding either Denver’s or Philadelphia’s 2nd round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

While both of these picks do not seem that favorable, this would give the Thunder a total of five draft picks in 2022, two of which would be in the second round.

Having options to move around on draft night would be huge for the Thunder and give them even more opportunities to be able to acquire or draft the players that they have had their eyes on.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a great young talent that is leading this team and they have some other key talents they are looking to grow with, so why not add a player like KZ Okpala who has shown some potential on the wing?

Nothing is “set in stone” in Oklahoma City rotational-wise right now other than Shia Gilgeous-Alexander’s spot on this roster, so trading Kenrich Williams for KZ Okpala and a second-round pick could definitely be something the Thunder are interested in.

Kenrich Williams presents no long-term value to this team and while he has played well in a Thunder uniform, he is expendable for them. Getting another draft pick in a trade would make this front office happy and getting one for a bench player is even better!
